Chancery Lane

The Challenge

Our specialist contractor was tasked with installing an area of slip resistant flooring at Chancery Lane Underground Station. Due to the busy nature of the location, a fast return to service and minimal down times were essential prerequisites of material selection. Flooring materials used in London Underground must have section 12 approval for reaction to fire & slip resistance.

The Solution

In a setting where a tough, flexible and chemical resistant floor finish was required — alongside slip resistance and flame-retardant properties — Resbuild MMA Smoothscreed FR was specified as the ideal solution. The system combines a primer, self-smoothing screed with aggregate broadcast and sealer to deliver a compliant, cleanable and slip resistant resin flooring installation suitable for a high-traffic underground environment. The fast-curing nature of the system helped minimise disruption and downtime, contributing to an efficient programme and helping to control overall resin floor cost through reduced closure periods and rapid return to service.
